How to start a career in Investment Banking? and EU Foreign Direct Investment [SEMINAR]

How to start a career in Investment Banking?

I am senior in college with a double major in Finance and International Business. I am weighting my options and I want to work in the investment banking field. What are some entry positions? and how do I break into this field?

I am also interested in doing an internship in china in the same field. What are good programs to apply? Thanks for all this information.

In investment banking, it is like any career, you start as an apprentice and then apply for jobs and work your way in. In China, there is not that much investment banking going on compared to the west. Best way is to get in touch directly with investment bankers, and ask. Try foreign investment banker operating in China. Hong Kong and Shanghai are good places to look. Chongqing in western China are being developed as a financing center now. maybe worth looking to. I personally think though that investment banking is not a particularly good career choice today. The role of banks is changing more now towards being money administrators rather than investment as we have seen so far. Investment are more and more done through investment houses and investment funds, independent from banking.
