Difference in selling over the counter and stock exchanges stock? and Stocking The Shelves

Difference in selling over the counter and stock exchanges stock?

Quick Question:

I'm wondering what the difference is between is selling otc stock and normal exchange stock.
I hear that when you sell sell stock from a exchange, its guaranteed by an investment bank that you will get the money and when you sell otc market stocks, you have to wait for a buyer for your particular order. Is this true?

Thanks and have a good 1.

OTC is not a merket (no order book). It's basically matched bargains. Still goes through a broker.
