How does bank make profit on credit cards?

Lot of banks are issuing free credit cards. How do these banks make profit by giving free credit cards. If we purchase something in credit card, the bank has to pay the money to the vendors and we will pay it only after say, 45 days. The bank will lose the interest for this 45 days. So how does it work?

Shares, but you will need to be in for a long term investment.

The stock market is terrible at the moment and shares are worth very little. Buy something reputable that you trust will regain strength after the recession. It will take a few years to build back up but I think it's worth the wait.

Would Liberals Like To See Government Regulation, Licensing And Taxation Of Religion?

The Federal government could impose a system of regulations, licensing and taxation of the faithful to better control them and keep them safe. Government regulators would draft strict guidelines on what the licensed minister of the Gospel can and cannot preach. Preaching against abortion, homosexuality and the government would be illegal and strictly enforced.

In what ways would liberals like to see the Federal government better control the thoughts, behaviors and money of those who insist on worshiping and serving God?

What usually happens to a stock after a stock split? and Free Stock

What usually happens to a stock after a stock split?

i know that they split the shares, but what are the effects of that on the stock itself? I just looked at some charts of stocks and saw that some stocks were split at a point in time. Does that mean that a stock might go up or down? Or is there no correlation between that whatsoever?

Stock best answer:

Answer by magnolia
Stock split refers to a corporate action that increases the number of shares in a public company. The price of the shares are adjusted such that the before and after market capitalization of the company remains the same and dilution does not occur. Options and warrants are included.

Take, for example, a company with 100 shares of stock priced at $ 50 per share. The market capitalization is 100 × $ 50, or $ 5000. The company splits its stock 2-for-1. There are now 200 shares of stock and each shareholder holds twice as many shares. The price of each share is adjusted to $ 25. The market capitalization is 200 × $ 25 = $ 5000, the same as before the split.

Ratios of 2-for-1, 3-for-1, and 3-for-2 splits are the most common, but any ratio is possible. Splits of 4-for-3, 5-for-2, and 5-for-4 are used, though less frequently. Investors will sometimes receive cash payments in lieu of fractional shares.

It is often claimed that stock splits, in and of themselves, lead to higher stock prices; research, however, does not bear this out. What is true is that stock splits are usually initiated after a large run up in share price. Momentum investing would suggest that such a trend would continue regardless of the stock split. In any case, stock splits do increase the liquidity of a stock; there are more buyers and sellers for 10 shares at $ 10 than 1 share at $ 100.

Other effects could be psychological. If many investors believe that a stock split will result in an increased share price and purchase the stock the share price will tend to increase. Others contend that the management of a company, by initiating a stock split, is implicitly conveying its confidence in the future prospects of the company.

What other issues played a role in the American Revolution besides taxation??

I know that taxation was the major cause of the American Revolution, but I need some more causes for a paper I'm writing... help please!

Taxation best answer:

Answer by papaw9446
English oppression and attempted control of the colonists.

They came seeking religious freedom, but England was still trying to control their worship.

England realized the colonies were a wealth and new source of raw materials and trade goods. So did the colonies...Colonists knew the natural resources and wealth of their new world could give them the upper hand with England if they could gain their freedom.

(read the Declaration of independence;) It lays out some of the reasons the colonists desired and fought for their freedom

The Michigan Senate Finance committee Thusday, Nov. 4, 2010 took testimony on a package of bills that the League has been pushing for a couple of years. The League's Summer Minnick, Director of State Affairs for the League, testified along with Shea Charles, City Manager of Howell and Chair of the League's Municipal Finance committee as well as Beach Hall, Mayor of Rogers City on the importance of these bills. The bills, HBs 5550 - 5554 would, generally speaking, allow local communities the opportunity to refinance existing non-voted debt in order to better handle challenging fiscal times. Many communties have expressed an interest in these bills and the committee hearing is a great step forward in this process. The bills have already passed the House. There was a substitute adopted that made minor changes to the approval process and we now are optimistic that the bills will be passed at the next Senate Finance committee next week. This is one of the League's lame duck priorities and we are hopeful we can get the legislature to provide some tools for struggling municipalities before the end of this session!
