How is it beneficial for each parent to carry insurance on one child?
The courts allowed the non custodal parent to also carry insurance which decreased his child support payment. Does having 2 insurance pay the copay of the one used?

it gets a little tricky, but the secondary will cover a portion of what wasn't covered by the primary (i.e. if it cost $ 100 for procedure X and the primary will cover it at 80% that would leave the patient a $ 20 balance and say the secondary insurance will pay 80% for procedure X, the secondary will pay 80% of the $ 20 leaving the patient with a final balance of $ 4) it's not always that clear-cut though and it can vary from insurance to insurance and group to group
