How do you calculate bond lengths in this problem?
The carbon atoms in a benzene molecule are shown in different resonance forms as 3 single bonds and 3 double bonds. If the length of a single(C-C) bond is 154pm and the length of a double (C=C) bond is 133pm, what length would be expected for each carbon-carbon bond in benzene?

Answer by mysstere
You average them: (154 pm + 133 pm) = 287pm / 2 = 143.5pm
