Taxation Officer seeks to be Tax Adviser abroad ?
Am an Additional Commissioner Income Tax with sufficient experience and training but no certification. Plan to move to Australia since Civil Service is dying in Pakistan. What could be a short cut to have my self certified to work abroad? Any chance of admission to Masters of Taxation at age 51 years?

Hi. I recommend having a look at the post graduate taxation programs offered by ATAX at the University of NSW (UNSW). I'm studying international taxation with them and most of the students are mature aged (many students are in their 40's and 50's) and of diverse backgrounds and from overseas.
I'm not sure, but perhaps one of their Graduate Diplomas would be enough to bring your qualifications up to Australian standards (a friend in the course last year from India told me that it was enough for her).

To become a registered tax agent there are educational and work experience criteria to satisfy:

Or maybe you could apply for a government job with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) - your chances will be better if you have done an ATAX program and many ATO workers study through ATAX:

Good luck :)
