Well a decline in the stock market means your wealth has been diminished. By the quantum of the decline your wealth would decline proportionately. People would feel less inclined to invest in other assets like real estate due to the psychological effect as well as a real cost of a decline in wealth. Gold on the other hand might go up or down and it depends on other factors. If the dollar becomes stronger than oil prices may stay within reason. Only if the dollar becomes weak we could see oil prices escalate.

This time around, I took the V1 with the stock zoom lens for a quick shoot around downtown crossing (Boston). The zoom lens definitely bigger than the Nikon (pancake) 10/2.8 lens but it's not significantly bigger when retracted. It STILL fits inside my large winter jacket. The V1/stock lens combination is more pocketable that the Nex5N, kit lens combo.
I still enjoy shooting with the V1. I really like the size (even with the zoom lens). For me, it feels better than the Nex-5n with the kit zoom lens. I also prefer the colors and image rendering from the V1 over the Nex5n. V1 has more "pop" in color and slightly "softer" rendering which I love. I also like the silent shutter on the V1, whereas, the Sony Nex-5n has a loud "clack" when you take a shot. I can shoot the V1 discreetly which makes me feel more comfortable. What's really missing from the V1, for me, the ability to get shallower depth of field.
Because of the V1, I am less tempted to get the Nex-7. However, I do miss Sony's sweep panorama feature and it's ability to shoot with just about any lens with adapters.
