When i sell stock on the stock market, do i have to wait for a real person to actually buy it?
How does selling stock work? Say I sell 50 shares in the stock market and place an order. Do 50 shares of that stock actually have to be bought for me to sell it? What if the stock price is going down? Does that mean I will wait longer to find a buyer?

Once you put in a sell order, and the stock hits the price you set to sell it at, it is a done deal. If you place the order at market price, it is sold in seconds.
