What is a real-world example of capital investment success?
Capital investment: the money put into buildings, tools, and machines to create goods and services.
Basically, I'm writing a paper about this in a business and how it can affect everything else. I need an example of how capital investment has led to success in the world, in a business or factory.
Thanks in advance!
I also need an example of a faliure from the real world, please.

Success:
Henry Ford decided he could build cars less expensively by creating an assembly line, moving the cars down the line to the workers who had stationary work stations with the parts and tools they needed. This required an investment in building the machinery to run the assembly line, and could have failed. But it worked, and allowed Ford to build cars that the people working to build them could afford to purchase. He had created a high value industrial job that made profits for the company and helped reinforce the ability of the industrial age to create a large middle class.
A failure in capital investment would be the construction of a large commercial building just before the economy turned downward. the expected tenants for the building would not be able to move into the building and the investors would ultimately lose some or all of their investment due to lack of income to repay the debts assumed to build the structure.
