What companies offer liability insurance on vacant farmland that I will rent?
Most companies want me to switch my home insurance to them before they will offer liability insurance on vacant farmland I plan to rent, located in another area.

Farmland isn't vacant. If you're using it to grow crops, or graze animals, it does NOT meet the definition of vacant. If you're renting it for someone's use, it's not vacant. That's where your problem is - your personal homeowners policy AUTOMATICALLY covers vacant land YOU own, anywhere in the world - but this isn't vacant.
So you need to use a local agent, who can help you buy a liability policy - most likely through excess & surplus lines, as you'll have NO support for it - for rental farmland - or whatever the class code is, for how the tenant plans on using it. You can't buy this insurance "do it yourself", and you can't buy it on the internet.
Scottsdale, in particular, is one company that would write this. Depending on the land usage, there might be more. But again, you can't go to them directly. They ONLY deal with agents.
