If you cancel a loan prior to disbursment does it hurt your credit score?

If you just got approved for a loan with a cosigner. Then decide to cancel the loan a day later. Will it hurt your or your cosigner's credit score?

Most loan approvals are good for a certain amount of time, like 30 days. If you never signed the loan contracts and received the money, then the only thing affecting your credit would be a "hard" inquiry on your credit report.

This will lower your score 5-8 points. It will remain on your credit report for 2 years.
