First of all, there's no such thing as "major liability".
Million dollar limits are normal, for businesses.
And hauling for others across the USA, requires the following:
cargo coverage
commercial auto coverage
general liability coverage
property coverage
PUC filings/bond
workers comp if you have employees
The last guy I quoted, the insurance to haul for others, including physical damage on his truck and trailer, was $ 26,000. That's not the coverage amount, that's the cost of the insurance. And he didn't have a million dollar liability limit. That will add at least $ 5,000 more.
