How do I cash a check from a foreign bank in Taiwan?

I have a check from a bank in England, and I've been asking around, but most banks say they cannot cash it. What should I do?

Checks are normally cash only by the drawee bank itself which explains why you are turned down by banks in Taiwan.

What you can do with your check is to visit your bank where you maintain an account in Taiwan. Your said bank shall facilitate the collection for such item for you. There's a fee to do this but the amount is reasonable. Collection will take from around 7 days to a month depending on the network of your local bank.
