Can you save any money on selling shares of stocks if that money is then used to purchase a home?



I'm interested in purchasing a home and my wife has stock options coming to her in a year and a half. Can you save some taxation on that money if you apply it towards a down payment, or is that only applicable to certain 401K/IRA plans?
