What will happen to my bond after the company gets bought by a private firm?
I have in mind the 20-year bond issued by Clear Channel Communications. The company got bought by a private company and since then the price of the bond has been going down (about 20 percent over the past six months.) Its ratings are still the same BBB. What will happen to this bond? Any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks a lot.

I'm not familiar with the sale, but normally, nothing happens to the bond other than a fluctuation in market value. The buyer assumes all liabilities of the bought company. If the buyer company has a better or worse credit rating than the bought company, the market value of the bond will go up or down, but the face value / redemption value won't change.

So I was wearing my Bonds Thermocolour SInglet (I am old school and will refer to it as hypercolour because that is what is it) and I went to the Salvos Depot to do some opshopping and I had a peek at the clothes... and guess what I found?.... another Bonds hypercolour SInglet!! YAY!! I may not have been the only person in the world wearing hypercolour but I bet I was the only person wearing hypercolour and buying more hypercolour!
They do say when you like something you should buy a couple of them. I am now set for the future with not one but 2 hypercolour singlets... ahhh the future is looking good!
