Is government spending a form of taxation?
When the government borrows money and spends it, how is that different from taxation other than people don't see it taken out of their paychecks?

A very valid point you bring up. It is how our politicians redefine labels. As far as spending, the raid on the Social Security funds and leaving the program underfunded is the most blatant unpunished crime. And now, we have "fees" instead of taxes for other programs such as national park entrance tickets. We are rapidly reaching a point where choices on how to spend the money will no longer be a choice.
