I am with GEICO Insurance if the decision is not state dependent is it insurance company dependent? If so, how long before GEICO will settle?

If you have comprehensive coverage........

Your policy states that there is a 30 day waiting period from the time you report the theft. The insurance company has to wait and see if the vehicle is recovered.

During this waiting period they will conduct their investigation.

After the 30 days they will tell you their disposition, whether they pay the claim then, or they need to investigate further.
