If I have registered my business with the VA department of taxation, do I own the right to the name?

I have acquired an EIN with the VA department of taxation, and registered my sole-proprietorship in my state, does that mean no one else can use the name of my business?

If you registered your company name and no one else has registered it before you, then it is yours.
As long as you maintain your registration no one else can use it and if they do you have legal rights.
