How do I encourage my Cockatiel to bond with another one?
I've had my cockatiel for about a year and I'll be getting another cockatiel tomorrow. My cockatiel has bonded with me and I think she considers me her companion. Is there any way I can encourage her to bond with this new cockatiel?
Ellie, thank you. The cockatiel I will be getting is male I think. He whistles and talks and stuff. Mine doesn't and I know females don't normally talk or whistle. I'll be getting a cage from the people that are giving him to me.

She will bond with that cockatiel at her own time, but if it is a male she will mostly bond with him a lot quicker. First of you want her to get to know she/he in her own time so keep the cages close together (that's if you have too cages). Then another thing you can do it take them out together, and bond with the new one in front of her, so she will learn that you care of her as much as you care for she/he, and so she will soon to learn to accept the new bird and love she/he.
