Can anyone explain me the taxation problems for Hispanics at the time of the Proposition 187 in California ?
I'm a Japanese student studying in France and now I study about the immigration problems in the US. I have to write a report about the Proposition 187 in California but I don't have enough information. Can anyone explain me the reasons why they supported this proposition, especially the economic reasons (taxation for Hispanics etc) ? Thank you very much.

The problem they were having was that almost all public services are paid for by taxes. The thing was that the illegals were using up these resources but not paying taxes. They were running out of money. I mean California is almost bankrupt. So what to do about those that are paying taxes?
