How to replace stock on 700 series Remington?

I have a 700 series Remington .308 with 20" bull barrel. Stock is black synthetic. I would like to put a nice wood thumb hole stock on it. What specs of my gun do I need to know for replacing the stock, also where do I search for nice stocks?

You can find stocks on many websites. I use stocky stocks for my stocks or ebay.

You will need to know if you have a long action or short action. Also, you will need to know if your 700 is a ADL (no floor plate on the bottom), or a BDL (has a floor plate). You will also probably like a bedded stock. The bedded stock will help with accuracy.
