How real estate investment work? What are the risk involved?

I have been seeing a lot of ads in the street and news paper about real estate investment. I would like to know how that works. Is it risky?

There is some risk involved, but it is manageable.

You however need to start by educating yourself. There are many "branches" of real estate, each with its unique benefits and risks.

One item is mostly constant (not for all however), it is not a liquid investment and might need lots of time
to mature.
