How can i convince my parents to finance a ppl?

Hi!
I really want a ppl(a) but with my salary it would take something around 3 years to get it. The only way i can get it if is my parents finance it for me. I have read a lot of ppl theory (i find aerodynamics very interesting) but they still won't finance it. i live in norway, things are very expensive here, a ppl costs something around $ 16000 in Norway. I'm 16 years old btw, is it to early to think about things like this?

Thanks for answers :)

If they cannot really afford it without forgoing more important things, you can't convince them that it is a worthwhile expenditure. If money is not a major issue, then hopefully they can be brought to an understanding that you will enhance your knowledge in a wide variety of subjects including geography, meteorology, navigation, human physiology, physics, aerodynamics, radio theory and communications, engine theory, applied mathematics and other useful subjects that can be applied to many college studies and careers other than flying. Unlike many subjects in school, you will need no extra incentive to study these subjects because the end reward is better than any high school diploma.

You will also develop a sense of personal responsibility and discipline, you will gain self-confidence, and you will experience the pride of success in mastering something that many never will. You will also associate with a high caliber of mostly happy, success-oriented people, which can only have a positive effect on you.

If they worry about the dangers of flying, they needn't. The accident rate of students is extremely low. you have 1000 times greater chance of being killed in an auto accident as a teenager. If anything, they should let you learn to fly but not hand you the keys to the family car.

Good luck.
