Regardless of the state of the Economy, people are always going to:
1. Eat (buy food stocks)
2. Sleep (buy utilities)
3. Drink (buy beverage manufacturers)
If you don't want to keep a stock, don't buy it. Buy to hold, don't churn. The market makes money on volume, the investor makes it on growth. All market volatility does is make brokerages rich.
