Will there be any charges is I want to withdraw from my bank?

I want to change banks. Would it be smarter to withdraw from my current bank completely, or just get a second checking account at my desired bank?

I don't want a savings, just a new checking.

you need to go into the bank and close the account or you will be charged.
or you can tell them you want to change the account. just changing the account would be easier.
