What is an entry level job in investments for a finance graduate?



I recently graduated with a BComm Finance degree and am having a tough time finding a job. I have no experience and was wondering where can I start to begin working in investment banking? Even an assistant analyst position requires a few years of experience and extensive knowledge of the markets. What kind of job can I look for to begin with and then work my way up?

If you want to break into investment banking you will need relevant internships. If I were you I would get a list of regional investment banks and offer to work for free for a bit until you get some experience. You will need to network like crazy to get a full time position. I have no idea what city you are looking at, but here is a ridiculously huge list of i-banks in just about every reasonable size city around the world (I would pick a city and just start calling up/emailing the banks, what's the worst that could happen? They say no and you are in the same position you are currently in :-P):
