What does it mean on a law enforcement application when it asks if you've ever been bonded?

There are two questions on a jailer application I am filling out that I don't understand. One asks if you've ever been bonded, and the next one asks if you've ever been denied bond.
I asked an officer and he said he wasn't sure if it meant like a signature or other kind of bond after an arrest, or some other kind of bond. Anyone have an idea?

It's an insurance thing. A company that handles this sort insurance will do a complete criminal and background check, they will talk to all your business and personal references etc. for your (potential) employer. If they bond you they will offer the employer insurance to cover a loss IF you steal from job where you handle large amounts of cash or valuables for example. So, if you've been bonded they want to know, if you been denied the really want to know that.
