Is there an insurance you have to get once you get your licesne?

I know there's car insurance, is there another type of insurance that you have to get? What if you don't have your own car, do you still need insurance?

When you get your license, no. BUT, if you want to drive your parents car, or get your own car, THEN you need car insurance. I got my license in Jan (I live in MA) but then couldn't drive anymore as I had no car insurance in my name.
