How do I estimate my student loan interest payments? and loans

How do I estimate my student loan interest payments?

I'm trying to figure out how much my student loan interest payments will be monthly.

The loan is for $ 5,000. The interest rate will be approximately 8.2% (it's variable, though). The repayment window is 72 months.

How much per month would I pay in interest? I need to know before applying for the loan and getting stuck with a ridiculous interest rate.
Suddenly, I have already applied for federal loans and have accepted them. They do not cover the entire cost of my school, hence the private loans.

Just use a student loan calculator, this is the one I use http://nelnet.com/calculators/LoanRepaymentCalculator.aspx?path=bsp.fye.ufa.calc

Your looking around 1347.08 of interest overall with a monthly payment of 88.16 dollars.

of course, this is a fixed interest, variable, could change. Also assumming your not going to pay more than just the minimum requirement.
