How to get into buying and selling stock?

I want to get into buying and selling stock, but I don't know where to start or what to do.

You need a brokerage account. Consider an online broker like eTrade, Scottrade, Tradeking, etc.

You can open your account online. Then you just deposit money into it. From there you can place orders to buy shares of stock and sell later on.

Look at yahoo finance as a starting point for stock market news and quotes. There are a lot of sites out there including reuters, MSN money, CNBC, Financial Times, etc. Do some exploring and see what you like.

Go to your local book store or library and pick up a basic book on how to invest in stocks. That should help you get your start. There is a lot to learn. Good luck!
