How can the Feds charge me income tax if I am a minor?

Haven't they heard the phrase "Taxation without Representation"? Last time I checked, that was the reason why we declared our independence... I don't want my hard-earned money in the hands of politicians if I can't have a say as to what they do with it!

Because the law that levies the income tax has no age requirements. The requirement to pay taxes is based upon your income, not your age. There are infants with taxable income who must file tax returns. Of course their parents file on their behalf but the return is filed in the child's name.

Your representation is through your parents until you reach the age of majority. At that point you become a full-fledged citizen with all of the rights and responsibilities of same.
