The National City Bank of New York is the predecessor of Citigroup/ Citibank.

I can't find much information on the Escomptebank AG. Escompte is a French word, but AG is a business form in Germany and Austria. Nor do I know much about the city of Timisoara/ Timişoara.

Interestingly, the Banque Belge pour l'Étranger New York branch itself eventually became known as Belgian-American Bank, then European American Bank. In 2001, the bank was sold to Citicorp for USD .6-billion.
