How much do you pay for your insurance? Car, life, property? Probably, a LOT. Yet so many people don;t have a clue what is covered and what is not.
Yes, I believe it is the agent's responsibility for the insured individual to know just what his policy covers and what it does not.
It is also the insured's responsibility to find out!
It would save a lot of grief when they file a claim and discover it is either not covered,. or there is a deducable which is higher than the cost of repair or replacement.
