Unless I misread you, you are asking if insurance companies use weapons on satellites to destruct buildings so they can make money off of them?

First of all, that capability to damage buildings from orbit probably doesn't exist, and if it did (barely possible) the military would keep it under tight control and certainly would not allow insurance companies access to it.

But more important, what are insurance companies for? If a building gets damaged, they have to pay the owners for the damage! they don't make money from it, they lose money.

edit. Why would they destroy other buildings? they still would not get any money. And because of the way insurance is underwritten, I think they would still lose money.

Where did you get this strange idea? Don't you think if a building was destroyed via a huge laser from outer space it wouldn't make the headlines?
