Economics or Finance for Investment Banking?
I am presently a graduating senior majoring in Economics, and an aspirant investment banker. I have been told that Economics is an ideal major for Investment Banking, whilst others have said that "IB" prefer Finance Majors. Since, it would not seem feasible for me to major in Finance, as I am graduating senior, and I would not have time to finish the necessary requirements, I have highly considered the option of pursuing a Minor in Finance, which seems realistically attainable with an extra semester in College. However, my dilemma remains between spending an extra semester in College, as oppose to graduating this semester with an Economics degree. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Furthermore, I do plan to pursue graduate studies possibly in Mathematical Finance, or Economics; however, I was not sure if having a Finance minor would provide me with the preparation needed to strive in such a rigorous program.

1. For Investment Banking, Finance would be preferable.
2. However, in view of your circumstances, Economics will also do.
3. A Minor in Finance, as proposed by you, will grive you basic knowledge in Finance which will be helpful for Investment Banking.
