what can i use instead of beef stock?

Hi i dont often cook but anyways im making french onion soup the recipe calls for 4 cups of beef stock, what else could i use to substitute the stock? maybe chicken stock?

You could use chicken stock; it'll taste different though.

Is it me or is that a stock chart banner hanging over the building? You can also see the bear being defeated in the ground by the bull. The rat on the right is cheering for the bull. It really didn't seem to go with the scene. You know even the ordinary Chinese households are invested in the stock market when you can see banner like this.
