Does a ticket for not having insurance increase your insurance rate? and Big insurance: Sick of it health care reform rally

Does a ticket for not having insurance increase your insurance rate?

I'm a professional driver of a honda civic for a major company in California. My corporation has a policy that says if you have 3 or more dings on your record in 5 years (dings classified as anything that would increase their cost for your insurance policy) that you lose your job. 3 years ago I got a ticket for going 5 miles through a stop sign, that was #1, 8 months ago I got a speeding ticket for 78 in a 65, that was #2.

Tonight I went through a DUI checkpoint, I had everything except my insurance policy was 8 days past due. The officer and myself figured I just had an outdated card and all I needed was proof of insurance. It turns out, for some stupid reason, gieco didn't auto-renew my insurance policy, and I simply didn't have insurance for 8 days. I called my insurance company, got everything taken care of, but I still have a ticket for driving without insurance, which I imagine means a ding on my record. What I need to know is does that ding increase the cost of insurance in the state of California? If so I'm fired as soon as this ticket hits DMV.
To the first responder, I can easily be fired for what I do on my own time. The contract i signed to work at my job states that I need to have less than 3 dings that affect my insurance cost in order to stay under their employ. If someone racks up a ton of tickets, and my company goes from paying 50 a month to insure them, to 200 a month, that's a huge deal and they reserve the right to terminate the driver for that.
To the 3rd responder. You're dumb. My private insurance policy did not and will not go up for this. It did not make getting insurance hard to find, and it didn't even increase the policy a dime. However, I want to know if that's a general thing, or just a cool thing that gieco does (not charging me more for having that on my record)

ah pro driver?? as in you let youre insurance lapse and as a pro. you should know better than most that IF YOU can not show current proof of ins reg or a valid cdl you are in violation of many regulations in ca & most states ? its 1.500 for this infraction done see the judge show proof and throw money at it and it will go away if youre in a pool or sk n trace they will find it but take care of it cuse its youre cdl and #1 it wasnt in thier vech so f-em you cant be done for this ? youre car ur time as you werent drunk as you went through and passed the dui ck point ?this is common in the driving world but on youre time as its not a big thing as too getting a 502 ? good luck i wud not worry about it none of thier owned [stuff] was in jeporady you cant be firied its all youre stuff !!!!!
