Is a portfolio diversified if it consists of 1 index fund for stocks and 1 index fund for bonds?



Assume the two index funds are both large, broad funds. For example, the stocks fund might be indexed to the S&P 500 and the bond fund to the total bond market.

If you have something that follows the S&P500 like SPY, you can't be more diversified than that with those two funds.
