What feelings would you say that colonists under British rule felt that prompted revolt?

What feelings prompted the words "No taxation without representation!", the Boston Tea Party, and the Revolution? Insignificance? I can't think of what they were. Please help, this is for a Civil Rights paper. Thanks.

I am sure they felt stuck in a hard place. So they had to do something to express that feeling..
