An A-B-C list of some federal taxes has made the email rounds. But that's only federal and only a partial list. By the time you get to all the state and local types of taxes, the listing process is probably close to insurmoountable.

Some states have sales taxes on food. Google "sales taxes by state" for a list of state sales tax rates and which states exempt food &/or prescription drugs from state sales taxes.
