Are Investment Banks considered a cyclical company?

Are investment banks a cyclical company? Do they rise more when the economy rises and vice versa?

This question refers specifically to Goldman Sachs.

I know a typical bank is cyclical, because most of the cash flow depends on deposits and loans, but an investment bank is more dependent on their investment activities.

The market clearly goes thru cycles, and investment banking is directly affected. So yeah, it's cyclical.
